ISLAMABAD:

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Tuesday said that the industrial sector had shown reasonable growth during the last two years and the impression that many industrial units in the country had been closed down, was incorrect.

Speaking on a private television show, he said that during the last two years, exports also registered record growth. Similarly, the impression that our textile industry is shifting to Bangladesh, is also wrong as textile products remained our main export, he added.

Replying to a question, Kaira said that in the presence of Fiscal Responsibility and Debt Limitation Act, no government could borrow more than 60% of the gross domestic product (GDP).
