LAHORE: Jamhoori Watan Party (JWP) President Talal Bugti met Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif on Monday, where both the party chiefs discussed the current law and order situation in Balochistan.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, Bugti stated that Balochistan is in a state of war and Frontier Corps is responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation.
“Four gas fields were discovered in Marri Agency, which has been declared a no-go area. Sardar Bugti had given permission that gas be extracted from the fields to improve the situation in Balochistan as well as all of Pakistan. But the FC and other security agencies came and took over the area. In the name of security, they are looting billions of rupees.”
Bugti added that each time the Supreme Court points towards the FC in the law and order case, the FC starts attacking areas. “We have eyewitnesses of those attacks,” he stated.
He also thanked the Supreme Court for its efforts in stabilising the province and for hearing cases against the FC.
Sharif, who also spoke to the media, said that if the situation in Balochistan is to be improved then the process should begin right away. “Upcoming elections in the province are a ray of hope. They should be fair and transparent.”
He mentioned the All Parties Conference which was summoned at the Prime Minister House to discuss the Balochistan situation, “but no true Baloch leadership was present in the meeting”.
Commenting on how Talal Bugti was not allowed to hold funeral prayers for his father, Sharif said that these situations lead a person into becoming a traitor. “But it is not the fault of the traitors, it is the fault of those who turn the patriots into traitors.”

I am in touch with Youth of Balochistan more than anyone and I know about balochistan more than about so-called analysts. Now there is the problem, You just said that Sardars are responsible for the fact that people out of Balochistan don't know the name of all districts of Balochistan... This is comically idiotic. There is the problem lie people don't know about the issue about speak their mind out....incorrectly. Most of the sardars are the stooges of establishment and they are responsible for the conditions of Balochistan because they let the establishment do its dirty work. The three Main Sardars Marri, Bugti and Mengals have been the leaders of Balochistan fighting for their rights one way or the other. IF establishment had given them Power instead of pro-establishment stooges then the problems would have been much less now....
@Zahid Khan: Most of the people out of Balochistan don’t even know the name of all districts of Balochistan neither can they pin point them on a map...
My dear this is because of the role played by most of their Sardars, who amassed all the resources recieved from the government and used for other areas instead of spending on their public. As a result they are deprived, of education, health and other basic needs. I must urge you to meet Youth of Balochistan and discuss their point of view to get a true picture.
Totally agree with every word of Talal Bugti and also pay tribute to Nawaz Sharif for his bold stance. The problem of Balochistan is based on 65 Years of tyranny and colonial rule by the state through its proxies. Most of the people out of Balochistan don't even know the name of all districts of Balochistan neither can they pin point them on a map. They make a lot of scholastic comments on Balochistan issues based on the flawed information that they have heard from here and there. I have sympathy with such people. Speaking of Sui Gas, If it had not been discovered in 1952 then Pakistan had been in stone age now, All the industrial development was based on that Gas. Gas in sindh was discovered much later. Unfortunately Sui Gas has reached all corners of Pakistan but not in Sui town. Now How can any sensible person deny this rave travesty? All resources in Balochistan belong to the people of Balochistan and they should decide what to do with their resources not any outsider.
@sunil bhalla: Looting resources.....Such case is not at all here in Pakistan, but can be clearly seen in your country with East Punjab, Assam, occupied territory of Kashmir and may other states.
@Khan of Jandul: First save your Kashmir, it is already on a package to freedom/independence.
@Pro Truth: I agree with you.Baluchistan politicians should be given control and opportunity to solve the problems of their province. war is no solution to the present situation. We must learn from our history other wise history will keep on repeating itself.
@sunil bhalla: I respectfully disagree with you. Please keep your nose out and mind your own business. You have enough of your own problems. You should take care of them. thanks
Pakistan should remain in turmoil so that door remains open for generals to step in.Baluchistan picture is highly exagerated and a sense of fear for independant baluchistan is being created by deep state to win nationalist sentiments of public. There are so many contraditions in Baluchistan 'narative' I wonder why it hasn't caught the attention of liberal writers.
Which nations succeed in getting Independence or forming a state of their own? There just two conditions required for success of their struggle. First, there should be a desire for liberation in a large segment of an ethnic or religious group; Second, there should be Super Power support for their cause or international sympathy. When looked from this perspective and judged in accordance with the mentioned requirement, it becomes obvious that both can be observed in the national liberation struggle of Baluch. There is widespread resentment and discontent with the Pakistani state, second and more important is the fact that their struggle now enjoys the support of major powers and their demand has attained international attention.
Slumbai, balauchistan can sell its gas to India too. Balauchistan will get better price for its resources from india rather than west punjab which is only looting these people.
"Balochistan is in a state of war: Talal Bugti" yes it is and we are going to kill all anti Pakistan elements and free the people, our Baluchi brothers, of their corrupt/greedy sardars and leaders ... Baluchistan Zindabaad Pakistan Paindabaad !!!!
Balochistans gas fields really are not that special, on a world level. Nothing like the finds offshore Tanzania. Or the gas finds offshore Falkland Islands. The thing with Balochistan is, they need to understand that with such small gas fields, (nothing compared to Iran, Turkmenistan or Qatar), they NEED to sell it to Punjab to make the project viable, its simply not viable to sell it to anyone else (the iranians dont need your gas, neither does afghanistan). Sui, is their biggest/2TCF, which really isnt world class. If you had Qatar size reserves then its another story. And if you'd let prospectors come in without them being kidnapped, maybe you'd get somewhere. Its a two way street. Rational people are needed, not these sardars and corrupt politicians, who dont have a clue.
Balochistan with all its natural resources, should be paid all the royalities and there is no reason why it shouldnt become a super rich province of Pakistan. Now after 18th amendment, resources are transferred to all provinces. All valid concerns should be resolved and if that means some people getting punished, then so be it. Hearts can not be won with war!
With Blachistan leaders opening doors to all other leaders, they have shown willingness, its now turn for other leaders to act as national leaders and join them in their cause to resolve it.
