KARACHI: A man who was found dead two days ago has been identified as Ghulam Asghar, 50, a Sindh local government officer.

He was found dead in an empty plot in Defence Phase V, in the limits of the Darakshan police on Thursday. His body was taken to the Edhi morgue for identification.

DSP Zameer Abbasi said that Asghar lived in the same area and was a grade-19 officer at the Sindh local government, adding that his eldest brother, Akbar Wadan, is the Khairpur headquarters SP.

He added that Asghar was killed over a monetary dispute and that the police have traced the suspected killer. They claim that the suspect was Asghar’s friend, who called him to the abandoned place and shot him dead.
