Militancy: IED explosion damages police van

A police van was damaged when a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on Saturday.

A police van was damaged when a roadside improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on Saturday. No casualties or injuries were reported.  An official at Billitang police station, Muhammad Imran, said that the van carrying five police personnel was en route to the police station when the IED exploded around 7:15am as it reached a stream. The explosion smashed the glasses and burst the tyres of the van. According to the Bomb Disposal Squad, five kilogrammes of explosives were used in the IED. Search operation has been started, however, no one has been arrested so far.
