Competition: Dramas highlight social issues

Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb and Naheed Manzoor were the guests of honor.

Two dramas were staged at Rawalpindi Arts Council on Friday in an intercollegiate drama competition in connection with the Punjab Youth Festival. Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb and Naheed Manzoor were the guests of honor. Students from Government Khadija Umer Girls Degree College, Rawalpindi staged a play named “Ghar tu Akhir Apna hai” which was written and directed by Rabia Rashid and Nabeela Awan. The importance of education and its role in instilling positive values was highlighted in the play. The second drama was staged by students from Federal Urdu University. Titled “Umeed Abhi Baki Hai”, it was written and directed by Waqas Aziz. The main subject was fanaticism and social evils and how the cure is education. Speaking on the occasion, Aurangzeb said education is the only way to resolve all issues comprehensively.
