'Match-fixing allegations hinder fund raising campaign'

He said the cricketers under the Article-4 of the constitution have committed cheating, affecting the relief process.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Law and Justice Babar Awan said that allegations of match-fixing at Pakistan Cricket team have also caused its negative consequences on fund raising campaign for flood-affected people.

Talking to the media in Islamabad, he said that the cricketers under the Article-4 of the constitution have committed cheating, adding that the allegations of match fixing has left its dire consequences on fund raising campaigns for flood victims across the country.

He also pointed out that the nation is waiting for judicial verdict on the 18th Amendment for the past five months. Judges appointment procedure has been clearly defined in 18th Amendment as by establishing parliamentary commission judges appointment issue could be solved, Babar maintained.

Federal minister also clarified that the government is not responsible for delay in judicial commission formation, adding that the 18th Amendment could restraint military adventurism.

He also termed the statement from MQM chief Altaf Hussain as political, adding that PML-N should disburse resources for the flood victims instead of spending for advertisement campaigns.

Trust the current PPP leadership to jump at the opportunity of blaming the cricket scandal for a poor response to fund raising to hide the fact that their own ineptitude and corruption are the major reasons for a poor aid response. Its rather rich to hear the PM say that he 'hangs his head in shame' over these allegations, when he had no shame when his party's Chief Minister in Balochistan stated that 'a degree is a degree, real or fake', and he himself campaigned for a self-admitted liar and forger (fake degree) in a by-election campaign.

But you have forgot all you were ambassadors of Pakistan should do your duty why you disappeared in the western beauty and dollars. Atiq Rehman | 14 years ago | Reply He thinks that the match fixing allegations have hurt the fund raising campaign but doesn't understand that the surrey place, french chateau, submarine deal, ARY case etc are the real reasons why no one wants to donate to Pakistan.
