Crime against women: Two women killed over disputes
FAISALABAD:
Two women were murdered in Faisalabad on Wednesday. Police said that Khalil Ahmed, a resident of Chak 62-RB, quarrelled with his wife, Naheed Bibi, 30, and axed her to death. A neighbour, who found Naheed Bibi’s body lying in a pool of blood, informed the police, who sent the body for a post-mortem examination. Ahmed was later arrested, and police claimed, had confessed to the murder. Elsewhere, Salma Bibi, a resident of Chak 119, Rasoolpur, and a mother of three, was strangled by her brother, Zeeshan, who had suspected her of having an illicit relationship with a neighbour. Chak Jhumra police said the two had had an argument on Wednesday after which Zeeshan beat her up and then killed her. He then fled away. A case was registered on the complaint of the husband of the deceased. Police are looking for Zeeshan.
