Flood-hit areas: Relief goods dispatched

A multinational beverage company has donated four trucks of relief goods for the flood affected in the Punjab.

LAHORE: A multinational beverage company has donated four trucks of relief goods for the flood affected in the Punjab. The consignment was handed over to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Wednesday. MNA Pervaiz Malik received trucks on behalf of the provincial government. The PDMA Director General Mujahid Sherdil, the beverage company’s Executive Director Ahmad Sohail and Director Fahad Qadir were present on the occasion. The relief goods include 2,500 ration bags, 3,000 mineral water bottles, 150 water proof tents, 3,000 large bottles of juice and 300 wheat flour bags. Pervaiz Malik said 400 metric tonnes of relief items were being sent in 50 trucks for flood affectees of Balochistan. He said 110,270 ration bags, 36,000 rice bags, 38,000 flour bags, 15,000 blankets and 8,839 tents had been distributed amongst the flood affected DG Khan and Rajanpur so far.
