QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Mohammad said on Tuesday that good governance and financial discipline are imperative for ensuring sustainable economic development of the province. He observed that political pressure plays an important part in promoting corrupt practices and told officers to refuse any illegal order. Public servants will have to fight the menace of corruption and financial irregularities, he said at a workshop organised by the Balochistan chapter of the National Accountability Bureau in collaboration with the provincial government. The one-day workshop was attended by all of the provincial principal accounting officers of Balochistan with a view to exchange ideas over curbing corruption, irregularities and observing financial discipline. The chief secretary directed the accounting officers to go by the book in deciding financial and economic issues, as it was the guaranteed way to curb corruption.
