LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Rai Ayoub Khan Marth on Tuesday directed an actress to approach the police for the registration of a case against men she said had made death threats against her. Petitioner Sanam Chaudhry told the court that Abid Ali and Javed Iqbal alias Sheeda had abused and insulted her over the phone and threatened to kill her. She said that they had threatened her because she was supporting a friend, also Ali’s estranged wife, who had accused Iqbal of rape. She said that her friend had filed a suit for divorce against Ali and recorded her statement before a magistrate regarding the accusations against Iqbal. The judge disposed of the petition, directing the actress to approach the police and directing the station house officer concerned to act on the matter according to the law.
