World Twenty20: Sri Lanka face SA as women’s event begins today

Pakistan play their first match against England on September 27.

The ICC Women’s World Twenty20 kicks off in Galle today with host Sri Lanka taking on South Africa in the opening match.


Eight teams have been split into two groups with Group A including defending champion Australia, 2009 winner England, and traditional rivals India and Pakistan. Group B comprises home team Sri Lanka as well as two-time runner-up New Zealand, South Africa, and the West Indies.

Pakistan play their first match against England on September 27.
