Spread of virus: Man dies of dengue fever

The 37-year-old patient was admitted in District Headquarters Hospital about eight days back with high fever.

HARIPUR: A man died of dengue fever in Kangra Colony of Hazara district, revealed sources on Monday. Salabat Khan a resident of Kangra Colony, told The Express Tribune that his 37-year-old brother Saeedur Rehman, was admitted in District Headquarters Hospital about eight days back with high fever. His condition worsened with time and on the advise of a medical officer they took him to the Holy Family Hospital on Sunday afternoon. “Doctors confirmed that Saeed’s platelet count had reduced to dangerous levels and they advised us to arrange fresh blood,” he said adding that when they were about to carry out platelets transfusion Rehman passed away. Health authorities were not clear about the cause of the death.
