Floods 2012: PMA to distribute relief goods

KARACHI: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) will send medicines and water purification kits as well as tablets to the flood-affected areas of Sindh and Balochistan.  Dr Mirza Ali Azhar, the organisation’s secretary general, said that physicians in flood-hit areas are ready to treat patients, but require medicines to do so. “Water purification kits will also be provided so that they can be installed immediately.” The organisation has also asked the government to provide security to its volunteers. Family physicians in these areas should contact Dr Qaisar Sajjad to have the drugs delivered to them or collect emergency packs from PMA house located on Sir Aga Khan (Garden) III Road in Karachi. Dr Sajjad can be contacted at 0300-8223770.
