LAHORE: Billions of rupees are being spent on the welfare of the youth in the province, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Sunday. Speaking to a delegation of assembly members, Sharif said hundreds of thousands of unemployed but talented young people were benefiting from the government’s employment generation programmes. “The green tractor scheme, laptop, self-employment scheme, provision of buses for colleges, solar panels and bio-gas pilot projects have been started for them,” he said. He said some of the other provinces were now following Punjab’s lead.
