Contaminated drinking water and insufficient sanitation facilities cost the national kitty Rs343 billion annually in terms of ailment and environmental degradation, Secretary Climate Change Mahmood Alam said at a Donors Debriefing Session organised by the ministry on Thursday. Opening the session for discussion he called upon the donors to help Pakistan perform water and sanitation related projects to meet the Millennium Development Goals.
