Bashir Khamis Ahmad was found guilty of trying to smuggle large quantities of heroin into the kingdom, the ministry said in a statement carried by the official SPA news agency.
The beheading brings to 60 the number of people executed in Saudi Arabia so far this year, according to an AFP tally based on official reports.

we need stricter laws in Pakistan as well
Beheading is totally Halal as long as it is done against Haram ... period
@Enlightened: Very true
@Kamal Hassn: The TTP is following their financiar in beheading people in Pakistan.
The whole Muslim world is busy protesting on a crappy movie and Saudis are busy beheading people
@DarKnight: so what they are Saudis
They are animals - the Saudi rulers, that is.
This act of barbarity shows the true face of Saudi Arabia. The grandson of King Abdullah was sentenced last year in UK for murder after killing his staff member in the lift of a hotel. The lawyers of the grandson of the “Holy Custodian of the Two Mosques” asked the crown court not to reveal acts of sodomy of king’s grandson with his murdered staff member. Welcome to Saudi Arabia’s duplicity, hypocritical and cruel behavior to safeguard the Royal Family !!!
What about who buys drugs in Saudi. They should also look into it ?
What about Ummah?
@Salim: I posted similar comments which were not published by ET. Saudis need to refrain from giving refuge and funding of militant organisations/known militants in this region.
These Saudis are so lovable. I believe there is a blog here somewhere which claims this.
@Ejaz: Blasphemy laws are also used to keep people scared and proclaim bastion of Islam in Pakistan.
Will we behead Saudis for funding terrorist outfits in Pakistan ?
Only one?
@Aamir: You have pointed out it correctly? I have never heard about this that drugs and drinks are punishable by death penalty. Saudis are using this to keep people scared and proclaim to be champion of Shariah. The Shariah laws are on many occasions are misused in the Kingdom. There is no clear and impartial judicial system in that country, hence, decisions of courts will be dubious.
very good for pakistanis, they think they are smart.
People like @citizen show me all compassion has been lost. Harsh treatments for criminal activity is a very tricky area and rash decisions cannot be made.
Saudi beheads Pakistani .Nice humorous title
These people are just Taliban who have got rich all of a sudden
Wow, mind blowing. I love it.
Does the Quran or Hadith say anywhere that drug offences are punishable by death?
Mashallah.
Well done ! Such exemplary punishments needed in Pakistan too .
Can these laws be adopted in Pakistan?
Perhaps not... The powerful rulers and elites are backbone to these crimes here.
Had it been USA, India or Israel, everyone in Pakistan would have claimed he was innocent. This is the bigotry we see in today's Pakistan.
