Woman jailed for not terminating Facebook page
The woman who got a DUI after she hit a car with teenagers in it, posted to her Facebook page saying: “My dumb*** got a DUI and hit a car LOL.
Apparently, it was the LOL that disturbed the people who were hit by the car and as a result, the judge ordered the woman to terminate her Facebook page.
When she did not do so, the judge sentenced her to two days in jail on contempt charges.
She has now apologised to all parties involved as well as the judge.

@kumail: Yes, might be overbroad. The woman appears to have been convicted of a crime, given a token sentence (time served), and likely was released on probation or parole. Probation usually has conditions attached, and new conditions related to the crime and justice can be added as long as the person remains on probation. Hence, ordering her to take down the page that offended the victim's family might be conducive to her reform and to respect for justice, and thus allowed as a constitutional restriction of free speech due to her continuing criminal term, but ordering her to close her Facebook account entirely might arguably have a more questionable connection, and thus might be declared overbroad. But I think it most unlikely that a reviewing court would overturn the sentencing judge's discretion on this one.
If there is one thing we are really good at, is making up illogical analogies to make their point.
The west must be ashamed of their hypocrisy when it comes to the so called freedom of speech.

Are you people really that dumb or just acting because you have conveniently missed the fact that she had committed an criminal act (hitting the car while drunk). This isn't about freedom of speech. And FYI, none of the the teenagers in the car attempted to kill her, damage her property or riot outside her home...
The freedom of expression..is violated only when they want it to be. How very convinient! -_-
