JI announces strike following killing of party leader
The former town nazim was targeted and killed in North Nazimabad while he was accompanied by his friend.
Police sources said that unidentified men on motorcycles attacked their car and killed both men.
Protesting the killing, people attacked Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and staged demonstrations near Sohrab Goth and burned tyres to stop traffic.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Rabta Committee members condemned the killing.
The announcement for the strike was made after his funeral prayers.
Four killed, two injured in different incidents
Two people were shot dead in separate incidents of firing in Malir and Baldia Town, whereas two bodies were recovered from Ram Swami and Siddiq Wahab Road.
Two others were injured in Liaquatabad in another incident of firing.

@mirza: Yes when MQM was doing strikes on daily basis in 90s, no one had guts (none has yet) to call it in human, You guys lost your voice while criticising MQM but can say any thing about JI,, shame on u
yup this country doesnt need jamat e islami ....this country wants more dead people...more target killings....and we must stay quiet cause we are poor and hungry
Call for strike will not help hungry and poor nation,these crazy people cant realize what we need is not jamat islami or munawar husain's strike.
Bhai when is the strike; Wednesday or Thursday or Friday.
