The Supreme Court has ordered the removal of the illegal oil tankers terminal from the residential area of Karachi's Clifton area within one month.
A Divisional Bench hearing the case has ordered the Karachi Port Trust to ensure that the land allocated for the tanker's parking is made available to them.
Residents of Clifton's Block 1 and nearby Shireen Jinnah Colony have been complaining that the oil tankers have been parking in the residential area, effectively blocking off part of the road and creating pollution and safety problems.
The Supreme Court has ordered the D-I-G of traffic to clear the Clifton area of any encroachments. The Court has ordered that it be informed of the status by the 10th of May.
