PTA blocks 753 anti-Islam film YouTube links
The chief justice had directed PTA to take down all sacrilegious material that disrespects Islam or Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in any way and had directed the Director-General PTA to submit a report.
The DG PTA said that almost 100 new clips of the anti-Islam film are proliferated on YouTube every day.
He said that the PTA had written a letter to YouTube, requesting the removal of such clips, but the video-sharing website replied saying that it does not have any such agreement with the government of Pakistan.
Justice Chaudhry had directed the Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (Pemra) to set up “standards of modesty” and submit a reply in this regard within two weeks.
The government earlier had claimed that the PTA and IT ministry had blocked 122 anti-Islamic websites during the past few days.
The authorities had also told the public that any blasphemous material that comes to their attention must be reported immediately to the PTA on 080055055 or emailed to complaint@pta.gov.pk.
The government had clarified that it was not blocking popular websites YouTube and Facebook, only anti-Islamic material. It had added that obscene material shall be blocked on case to case basis.

shame on PTA they have very unqualified staff. They only blocked the http protocol and leave the https.

Kudos to Indian muslims who showed restrainst and ignored the actions of a crazy film maker. Even though there were a few protests, majority ignored it. Hope muslims in other countries will learn from Indian muslims.

Why would a muslim want to "search" and view a video deemed offensive to the Prophet(PBUH)? Isn't it like mullahs watching Veena Malik's nude pictures and then shouting how shameless is Veena? No need to block any sites, just block yourself!

If your belief in Allah is strong enough no such films or books can affect your faith. I know such films are hurtful but what is the point in using violence to stop such acts of blasphemy. By using violence as a tool you people have only cemented the western belief that Islam is a non tolerant religion.
Till the Anti-Islam film’s creator is not hanged, No American consulate can run in Pak : Hafiz Saeed Hafiz saeed is the reason why islam is hated aroud the western world. Why people have to decide the fate of the producer of the film. Allah will punish him.

PTA is not lying. Basically no one in Pakistan has the capability to stop access to these sites.

@SaneVoice Google owns youtube and that particular video is on the top. It has been reported lot of times but still they are not removing it.

It is nice to block the material. but this is not a solution of continuous attacks on holy prophet(SaW). Do all islamic countries with more than a billion population has no legal moral way to solve the issue permanently .Is the world is left with no morality to save billions from hurting like this? is freedom of expression means is to say what u like no mater you abuse other or hurt them. is putting our own assets on fire and chantting slogans is the only solution we have?
When we ourself could not stop ourselves to search the site and see the movie than why to blame the youtube or Facebook. We need to boycatt all US brands indeed quietly, they will suffer itself.

PTA should Block the Entire Youtube in Pakistan
PTA blocked all those links in Pakistan, i could not get it. Do people in Pakistan want to watch this movie? therefore PTA blocked them.
Out of curiosity, may I ask who (among us Muslims) will search for the film we know is made against us? Why do SC and PTA (and the govt) has to direct resources on actions which we, Pakistanis, can manage sitting at home. For example, here the move is aimed at us not being able to access the film clips. Even if they are accessible, would be like to watch?

This is the right decision. I'd never supported any other bans or protests, but in this case, this is the right reaction.

Basically people in Pakistan demands the freedom of expression. That's why the PTA is trying to block only anti-islamic sites. But whether PTA has capability to do it as our neighbour China has created the Great Firewall of China which is trying to censsor and block the sites still there are software and websites which can make whole in this great wall and people are able to surf on the blocked sites. I have I myself recommended that PTA should try to block entire youtube and facebook site side by side it is our own responsibility to boycott these sites by not visiting these sites and lodge our complaint to the owners by sending emails to them. I myself has discontinued the use of facebook when FB has allowed the US terry jones site which it load while he was trying to put on fire our holybook. What is the responsibility being a Muslim, why we are supporting these sites by visiting on them regularly and then protesting on roads.
