Theft allegations: 12-year-old girl badly beaten

The girl was sent to hospital for medical examination.

ISLAMABAD: A 12-year-old girl, seriously injured from beating, was brought to Ramna police station by a journalist on Saturday night. The girl told police that she was beaten by her employer and her husband, who accused her of stealing Rs50,000 from them. She said that her employer’s husband Muhammad Afzal tied her hands with strings and beat her with sticks. Police said the girl’s eyes were swollen and she had deep bruises on her body. The girl was sent to hospital for medical examination. The Ramna police said they would register a case against the couple for torturing the girl on her statement as her wounds were of serious nature.
