House robberies: Youth, woman shot dead by robbers

A youth was shot dead for resisting robbers in Jaranwala.

FAISALABAD: A youth and an old woman were killed in two incidents of house robberies on Friday. A youth was shot dead for resisting robbers in Jaranwala. Police said 11 armed men broke in to the house of Rana Arshad in Chak 22-GB. As of the family called for help, their neighbour, Rana Naveed Ahmad, 20, came over and tried to stop the robbers. One of the robbers shot him and fled with the loot. The family took the injured to a hospital, but he died on the way. Elsewhere, a woman was killed during a robbery in Sahianwala. Police said some armed men entered a house in Chak 16-JB and tried to steal some goats. As Nusrat Bibi, 40, who was sleeping nearby, woke up due to the disturbance and started shouting for help, one of the men shot her and fled. Some neighbours took her to a hospital, where she died a few hours later.
