TIANJIN: Unilever’s Global CEO Paul Polman called on Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum summit on Wednesday, to apprise him of plans to set up water filtration plants in Pakistan on a large scale. He said the no profit, no loss social responsibility initiative will also be supported by Bill Gates, the founder and owner of Microsoft. The prime minister said the government will facilitate Unilever in carrying out its clean water project so that filtration plants can be installed at reduced costs. Polman also apprised the premier of a recent pact signed with India, under which Unilever will make products in Punjab, and export them across the border to India.
