Shooting: Two more injured in Gilgit

Two men were injured in yet another shooting incident in Gilgit on Tuesday.


An official of the Nomal Police Station, Sirajuddin, said that two men were returning to Gilgit from Hunza on their truck when it was attacked by gunmen near Jutial, about 30km from Gilgit.

The two were taken to a hospital in Gilgit where condition of one of them is stated to be serious.

Sirajuddin said that investigations are underway and was hopeful that the attackers will be traced soon. He added that the injured men are relatives and belong to Swat.

A day earlier, two men were shot injured in Bargo, Gilgit. The incident prompted locals to take to the streets and block the Gilgit-Ghizer highway for three hours demanding arrest of the attackers.
