SHO involved in Sialkot lynching arrested

The prime accused in the lynching of two brothers in Sialkot, SHO Rana Ilyas was arrested in Gujranwala on Friday.

The suspect had initially managed to evade custody having fled from the office of the DSP Sialkot. Ilyas was brought to the office so that he could be produced before a court for a judicial remand.

Sialkot murders: SC to receive inquiry report on Monday

Judicial Commission Chairman Justice (retd) Kazim Malik said that the inquiry report on the lynching of two brothers in Sialkot will be presented in the Supreme Court (SC) on Monday.

Speaking to Express News, Joint Investigation Team Head Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera said that arrests will be made after the completion of the inquiry. He said that evidence has been collected in during the inquiry process and a strict action will be taken against those  involved in the incident.

Sukhera said that 33 people including five policemen have been arrested in this connection so far while Silakot DPO Waqar Ahmed Chouhan is under house arrest.

He was detained by the Sialkot police on charges of negligence and for failing to stop the merciless lynching of the teenage brothers on August 15.

Arbab | 14 years ago | Reply All the people including the policemen who watched the incident while just standing did nothing must be brought to justice as soon as possible.The policemen's faces are distingushed by the wrong deeds they have done in their lives.I ope they will get the punishment now and on the day of judjment when Almighty will held them accountable for all the wrong deeds they have done.

Police institution needs reforms because not only in this incident but police is involved in many cries and there is no check and balance in this institution.
