Bright future: ‘All stakeholders have to work for improvement of literacy’

KARACHI: Sindh Senior Minister for Education and Literacy Pir Mazharul-Haq has said that the efforts of the current democratic government in the sphere of education will bear fruit very soon.

He was addressing a seminar regarding International Literacy Day organised by the Directorate of Literacy and Non-Formal Education, Education and Literacy Department Government of Sindh at Sindh Madarsa-ul-Islam University on Saturday.

Haq said that the present government’s biggest achievement was recruitment of teachers on merit. The senior minister said that according to Article 25-A, it is now a fundamental right of every children aged 5-16 to receive an education. “It’s the collective responsibility of the government and parents. The legislation in this regard is in its final stages,” he added.
