Inter part-II results: Three colleges dominate the Pindi region

Students of Cadet College Hassanabdal were on fire on Saturday, securing the top three positions overall in the intermediate part-II result announced by the Rawalpindi board.


Khuwaja Hassan Akhter came first with 1031 marks, followed by Haider Ali with 1030 marks and Hammad Ayaz with 1026 marks. All three students are from the pre-medical group.

Another two colleges dominating the charts were the Punjab College of Information Technology for Girls and the Punjab College of Information for Boys, securing amongst themselves 17 top three positions in different groups.

The result was announced during a ceremony held at Government Post Graduate College for Women on 6th Road. Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab for Higher Education, Zaheem Hussain Qadri, was the chief guest.

According to the statistics released by the board, 62,744 candidates registered for intermediate part-II and 59,718 of them took the tests. Of these, 29,996 passed for a percentage of 50.22.

Overall the girls performed better than the boys. A total of 26,648 boys appeared as regular candidates and just 11,763 passed for a percentage of 44.14.

The girls did much better, with 19,134 of the 36,094 regular candidates that appeared passing the exams for a pass percentage of 53.01.

Pre-medical girls

The Punjab College of Information Technology for Girls (PCITG) swept the top three positions in the pre-medical girls group. Maleeha Saleem got the first position with 1020 marks. Arooj Zulfiqar and Tehreem Zahid shared the second position with 1017 marks. Sara Hassan Jamil, a student of Oxford Public Girls Higher Secondary School Pindigheb, Attock, came fourth by scoring 1013 marks.

Pre-engineering girls

Iqra Noor of PCITG bagged the first position with 1018 marks, while Maha Sheikh of the same college obtained 980 marks for 2nd position. Sidratul Muntaha of Government College for Women Chakwal clinched the third position by obtaining 979 marks.

Pre-engineering boys

The Punjab College of Information Technology for Boys (PCITB) got two of the top three positions. Usman Tariq of PCITB got the first position with 1010 marks. Muhammad Anwaar from Kalar Kahar Science College came second with 1005 marks, and Muhammad Abdullah of PCITB came third with 1004 marks.

Humanities girls

Rabia Akbar of Government Girls Higher Secondary School Bochal Kalan Chakwal came first with 937 marks. Hafiza Iram Hassan of Jamia Syeda Fatimatul Zahra Mokologo Post Office Chakwal came second with 924 marks and Zoya Tufail of City Degree College Jhelum clinched third position with 912 marks.

Humanities boys

Hafiz Safiullah of Paracha Jamia Islamia Injra Tehsil Jhand got the first position with 869 marks and Mazhar Hussain of Government Boys Higher Secondary School Adwal and Shahid Rafaqat of Jamia Qadria Warsia Gujar Khan shared the second position by obtaining 860 marks.

General science girls

Students of PCIT clinched the top three positions. Wajiha Waheed came first with 1004 marks, Zonaira Sitar second with 978 marks and Salma Khatab third with 962 marks.

General science boys

Zaheer Ahmed of Military College Jhelum Sirae Alamgir (MCJ) got first position by scoring 994 marks and PCITB’s Talha Kothari
stood second with 953 marks. MCJ’s Muhammad Shehryar Salim came third with 906 marks.

Commerce boys

The top three positions were grabbed by the students of PCITB. Aswad Jamil came first with 964 marks, Mazhar Mehmood second with 936 marks and Mushahid Abbas third with 933 numbers.

Commerce girls

Again, the three top positions were bagged by PCITG. Zartash Zahid came first with 957 marks, Kainat Javed came second with 956 and Asma Sajjad third with 952 marks.
