The university said that it had no reports of eight parliamentarians, including Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid’s (PML-Q) Muhabbat Khan Marri, Seemal Kamran and Amna Ulfat. PML-Nawaz’s Afshaan Farooq, Farah Deeba and Shumaila Rana as well as Awami National Party’s (ANP) Syed Aqil Shah were also included in the list. Naseer Akhtar’s degree was also declared fake.
The HEC had earlier sent 376 degrees to the university for verification.
In the final report, the university also declared six other degrees "suspicious" and gave a final warning to the respondents to present their matric and intermediate certificates for verification.
These include National Assembly member Noman Iqbal and Punjab Assembly members Abdul Hanif, Mohammad Nawaz, Neelum Chaudhry and Mohammad Arqaan.
According to sources, cases of two fake degrees are still in courts, while Mubashir Iqbal and Mohammad Rizwan have taken back their cases.
Earlier, the Balochistan High Court had disqualified Syed Ehsan Shah from his post of industries minister for possessing and using a forged degree.
Correction: An earlier version of the story incorrectly stated 'members of Punjab Assembly' instead of 'parliamentarians'. The error is regretted.

@Nav: Did she go to jail for credit card theft? any follow up news??
Shumaila Rana is a lady cleared by a committee of PML-N. Now they will again clear their members after a long "investigation".
fake degree holder Parliamentarian should be debarred from any election for life long. Besides they should be charged for forgery( beside their disqualification to be a member of Parliament) and cheating the nation and be jailed.
@Ch. Allah Daad: nice one..you certainly seem to possess one.
Need to be put behind the bars for perjury and fraud, all assets confiscated.
HEC verified my degree in 2 weeks through British High Commission. It took them 5 years through Election Commission of Pakistan. :/
What difference does it make, if someone has "Punjab University" degree or not.
what a shame. send them to jail along with the chairman of ECP at that time.
This is what a university is saying: "In the final report, the university also declared six other degrees “suspicious” and gave a final warning to the respondents to present their matric and intermediate certificates for verification."
University does not know if the degree present was issued by them or not? please look at you record, you issued it or not?
It is a topi drama again, all are corrupt, including ........I mean all.
@Asim: Sir you are 100% right. It should have been done at the nomination time not after they have almost completed their term. However, this way The University of Punjab and the Punjab govt has made sure that their members complete their terms for over four long years. Regards, Mirza
Shouldn't they be booked for fraud?
Is shumaila Rana the same honourable MPA, who likes using other people's credit cards?
Charge them for fraud. Send them to jail.
Business opportunity for some one in Pakistan. Provide a service for Companies and Government in the verification of their matric, intermediate certificates, degrees, masters and phd's. Collect information from schools and varsity's and create a database.
Why were the degrees not authenticated 5 years ago by ECP at the time of filing the nomination papers??? Another example of the failed system...
Shumaila Rana! the infamous credit card stealing thief, no surprises there.
Failure of state institutions; now they are discovering fake degress it should have been done by Election commission at the time of verification of papers
