Exploiting mineral resources: Three marble cities to be established

"By the efforts of APMIA and Pasdec, the marble exports are increasing at 45% annually," says Ihsanullah Khan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Stone Development Company (Pasdec) will establish three marble cities at Mohmand agency (Federally Administered Tribal Areas), Risalpur and Loralai to facilitate processing with trained work force and latest processing machinery and infrastructure, said Pakistan Stone Development Company CEO Ihsanullah Khan while speaking at an inaugural ceremony of All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA) on Wednesday. Talking about reserves of marble and granite, he said that Pakistan is blessed with huge reserves of natural stone like marble and granite in multiple colours and shades. Khan said that by the efforts of APMIA and Pasdec, the marble exports are increasing at 45% annually. He hoped that $500 million export target will be achieved in near future.
