Police official among seven killed in Karachi

KARACHI: A police official and six others were killed in different incidents of violence in Karachi on Wednesday, Express News reported.

Unidentified men opened fire in North Karachi and killed Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Police, Abdul Ghafoor and a tailor, Muhammad Hussain.

According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police West Naeem Akram Bharoka, the deceased official was posted at Manghopir Police Station.

DIG Bharoka also revealed that it was not a targeted murder, but a case of personal enmity.

A person named Sarfaraz and his son Gul Nawaz were shot dead in Baldia Ittehad Town.

A strangled body was found at the Qayyumabad graveyard.

Another body was recovered from Napier Road which is reported to be of 25-year-old Zakaria, who was kidnapped and then shot dead. An unidentified body was found in the Khadda Market area of Lyari.

According to the police, the body was mutilated after abduction.

Three people died in different incidents at Jehangir Road, Mawach Goth and Landhi Export Processing Zone.
