Ghazala Javed case: Murder suspect on 14-day remand

Jahangir was arrested during a police raid in Hindko Daman on Wednesday.

PESHAWAR: A magistrate sent Jahangir, the ex-husband and suspected murderer of Pashto singer Ghazala Javed, on a 14-day judicial remand.

Jahangir was arrested during a police raid in Hindko Daman on Wednesday. The singer was killed on June 17 in Shah Qabool, Peshawar. Jahangir is also suspected of killing Javed’s father.

He first appeared before Magistrate Adil Akbar on August 30, who put him in police custody for two days. Later, the police request of extending his remand was rejected, following which, the magistrate sent him to jail.
