KARACHI: The Annual Bonsai Exhibition, which is being organised by the Pakistan Bonsai Society in collaboration with the Japanese Consulate, has kicked off at Zamzama Park. At the inauguration ceremony, the director of the Japan Cultural Centre, Ryo Ishikawa, said that this year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Japan. He also lauded the Pakistan Bonsai Society’s efforts to promote Japanese culture in the country. Bonsai is a Japanese traditional art in which miniature trees are potted in tray-like pots. They require a great deal of care and patience. Over a hundred bonsai are on display at the exhibition, which will continue till September 2 from 4pm to 9pm every day.
