Bandits killed at least four people in different incidents across Karachi on Wednesday.

KARACHI: Bandits killed at least four people in different incidents across the city on Wednesday, police and hospital officials claimed.

At Saleh Muhammad Street, Muhammad Azeem, 28, and 31-year-old Abbas Ali were shot dead by four bandits who were robbing people at a cloth market. They were killed because they resisted the robbery, claimed SP Saddar Town Javed Akbar.

Both of them were taken to Civil hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.

The people of the area staged a protest against police and the government for failing to provide protection to citizens. They demanded that the SHO of the area be sacked.

“A police constable, Abdul Sattar, arrived at the scene and fired at the bandits. They escaped leaving their bikes behind,” Akbar said. He assured that the police would soon arrest the criminals.

Separately, Kaleem Ali was killed by bandits near KDA Chowrangi. The victim and his friend Dost Muhammad were leaving for Quetta, when the muggers shot them for resisting robbery. Dost Muhammad was taken to a hospital. Kaleem was a car-dealer by profession and a resident of Sector 14-B, Shadman Town.

Also on Wednesday, Muhammad Farhan was killed during a robbery. Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan SHO Mir Muhammad Lashari said Farhan was in his car when bandits shot him near Block J, Qalandari Chowk, when he resisted the robbery attempt.

In another incident, a robber was killed by the security guard of a private company in Jamshed Town. Ferozabad SHO Rao Zaheer said the officials of a company had withdrawn some money from a bank and were headed towards their office when four robbers tried to snatch the money from them.

“The security guard opened fire and killed one of them while the others escaped,” Zaheer said. The robber could not be identified yet.
