Dengue threat: Shahbaz Sharif orders students against wearing shorts

This season, around 18 dengue patients have been admitted to various hospitals in Lahore alone.

LAHORE: In an attempt to combat the dengue threat, Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has ordered students against wearing half-sleeved shirts and shorts to schools and colleges, Express News reported on Thursday.

This summer, around 18 dengue patients have been admitted to various hospitals in Lahore alone.

The Punjab chief minister also announced that all government departments in the province will celebrate Dengue Prevention Day on September 2, wherein walks, seminars and workshops will be organised to mark the day.

In order to address the issue of human resource needed for dengue prevention, Sharif said appropriate number of workers will be hired soon.
