Ghazala was gunned down by unidentified gunmen outside a beauty parlour in Dabagari, Peshawar on June 18.
Ghazala’s younger sister Farhat had filed a First Information Report (FIR) with the police accusing her sister’s ex-husband Jehangir and his two friends Salam and Naseem of murdering her sister and her father. She told the police that Ghazala had a dispute with Jehangir, from whom she had sought divorce only six months after marriage.
Jahangir was arrested by Peshawar police from his house, while one of the other suspects managed to escape.
According to Express News correspondent Ihtesham Khan, Jahangir denied the charges levelled against him.
