Cricket: I will prove my critics wrong, says Wahab

Left-arm pacer Wahab Riaz, who is currently playing for the Waqar Younis-coached Ruhuna Royals in the Sri Lankan Premier League (SLPL), has said that his recent performances have helped him regain the confidence he lost during his time out of the national side.

Riaz made his last appearance for Pakistan in a losing cause against India in the Asia Cup earlier this year where he went for 50 runs off just four overs. However, he now believes he is on the right track to warrant a recall to the side.

“I’ve been in shape throughout the SLPL and my rhythm has been good,” Riaz told Pakpassion.net. “I feel that my rhythm and confidence is back and I’m hopeful that I can make a comeback to the national side and prove my critics wrong.

“However, I have to wait for my chance. The priority for any cricketer is to play for one’s country and I am no different. I am determined to regain my place in the Pakistan team and of course do well and retain my place this time.”

He and his daddy in Lahore , both have ruined our national cricketers, by luring them into game fixing, gambling, cheating. He should be refrained from being near to our heroes.
