Decision made: FUUAST VC appointment issue resolved

KARACHI: The issue of appointing a vice chancellor for the Federal Urdu University of Science and Technology (FUUAST) was resolved after a meeting on Saturday. FUUAST senate members upheld the decision by honouring the three names nominated for the VC post, which were made in the previous meeting on July 29. They criticised and rejected the objections made by the Higher Education Commission’s chairperson, Javaid Laghari, after he said that the names proposed for the post were not competent. FUUAST faculty members held a protest outside the meeting hall which was led by FUUAST president Prof. Javed Iqbal.
