Over 20,000 seats may remain vacant in govt colleges

The admissions committee will send the mark sheets to the Board of Secondary Education Karachi for verification.

Around 80,000 Matric graduates have applied to different colleges this year on the 100,015 seats available, said Prof. Nasir Ansar, the director of colleges.


Admissions started at 132 colleges and 24 higher education school on July 27 under the Centralised Admission Policy (CAP). The deadline was August 25. Merit lists will be made available in the first week of September.

The admissions committee will send the mark sheets to the Board of Secondary Education Karachi for verification. Sixteen claim centres have been set up for those applicants who feel dissatisfied with the admissions process. Around 92,000 applications forms were sold from 42 branches of Meezan Bank.
