HANGU:

Two people were gunned down by unidentified assailants in separate incidents of firing in Hangu on Saturday.

A City police official said that Faisal, a resident of Mohallah Ashrawi, was killed outside his house by two people on a motorbike. He was rushed to District Headquarters Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.

Police also reported another attack in Togh Sarai, where a man identified as Momin Khan was on his way to a market when pillion riders opened fire on him with an automatic rifle and then fled.  Initial investigations revealed that the motive behind the murder was an old enmity.

Despite a ban on pillion riding under Section 144 of the PPC, a large number of people have been gunned down in the district, including police personnel. No suspects have yet been arrested.
