LAHORE:

Businessmen have complained that the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) is flouting court orders, which have stopped the increase in  gas infrastructure development cess.

The issue came up for discussion when the businessmen met Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh here on Friday.

They argued that the SNGPL was not complying with the high court orders issued against the increase in gas infrastructure development cess and was creating trouble for the businessmen.

Instead of entertaining the court orders, the company was telling the complainants that it had written a letter to the ministry over the issue and was waiting for its reply, they said.

The LCCI president said if the SNGPL was flouting court orders it was actually committing contempt  of court.
