Hussain told Malik that such episodes are exacerbating the insecurity felt by religious minorities and such incidents needs to be stopped.
Malik, in turn, assured Hussain that the case will be resolved soon.
Earlier in August, Rimsha Masih, an 11-year-old reported to have Down Syndrome, was arrested for allegedly burning pages inscribed with verses from the Holy Quran. She was taken into custody in a low-income area of Islamabad on Thursday after a furious mob demanded she be punished.
However, recently a Christian activist, who met Rimsha, has seen a medical report which states that the girl has no mental illness.
Xavier William said that, “She was frightened and traumatized.”

Altaf Hussain said nothing wrong or controversial about Jinnah. It is not controversial, except to bigots, to say that someone belongs to the Shia faith.
Yes, it is true that he is less likely to face the fate of Salman Taseer, since he lives in London. Nevertheless, taking up the side of Rimsha Masih so openly is a politically (if not physically) courageous act on his part, and for that we should praise him.
most of the pakistani leaders are hypocrate >They have no clear concept of religion.Isalm is most powerful religion advises his follower to Live and let lothers live.I have regard for Altaf Hussain who talks about minorties particurly Shia ,Hindus and christianitt
When are you guys going to hang her?
@k. Salim Jahangir: what he stated was a fact.... when facts become bitter they become controversial but one has to face them like humans not ostrich
Proud of you Altaf Hussain for speaking out for the minorities specially Shia Killings you are the only one who can make
Who said Pakistan is not taking care of its minority? Much to the delight of Hindus, it is celebrating Diwali everyday. Don't you see crackers are burst everyday in Pakistan? Oops.....bomb blasts.
where is Mr. Imran Khan who is ready to do a 'march' on just about every other issue but silent on this??!! Not a word?! hypocrites fearful of speaking out against popular sentiments, just another Mullah in a new, well packaged bottle. I am NOT a fan of Altaf Hussian nor MQM but I thank him for speaking out on/against the issue.
Oh when will the hierarchy wake up from its deep slumber. Wake up Pakistan! Recognize the evils and leave no stone un-turned to eliminate them. Blasphemy laws being one of them.
@Ash: He is actively criticising this law since he is safe in UK..he wouldn't speak if he were in Pakistan. If he was that much of a lion he would dare returning to Pakistan first then speaking - its very easy to criticise when you are this far away and safe..
@Ash: A hypocrite is one who speaks about minorities and blasphemy laws so openly....from another country. It is evident who is on vacations since the last 10 + years.
Mr Ash,same person is raising his voice because he lives in England. No fear for showing concerns for minorities. If he lived in Pakistan .....? but you said one thing 100% right all other leaders are hypocrites. Not a single leader is concern abt the rights of minorities. They are just hungry for power including IK / PTI
Again the same person, same leader raising his voice and concerns for minorities and dared to speak out against the notorious blasphemy law. It appears he is the only one thinking about minorities of Pakistan!!
Where are other leaders? are they on some kind of vacation or are they just bunch of hypocrites who can't utter even two words in favor of minorities?
Mr.Altaf Hussain's concern on blasphemy is one thing, but his remarks about the Father of the nation in the same breath are uncalled for & totally unacceptable which tantamount to making the Quaid's person controversial & it is a deliberate effort for which the government should have taken due cognizance.
The nation including powerfull elites has surredered to mullah. And still it claims to be not a banana republic.Mullah is tried and tested enemy of peace but this nation is silent in a hope of miracle.Do this nation deserve miracle?.If yes then for what reasons.
So?. She is still 11 yrs old. What a country!
