TTP plans kidnappings, robberies to generate funds
A confidential report claims that the infamous Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is planning more terrorist activities in the country’s major cities – Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar and Bannu.
The decision was taken at a secret meeting presided by TTP commander Qari Shafiullah Moavia.
According to the report, the TTP plans on kidnapping serving and retired officers and American citizens to collect finances, as well as to negotiate the release of their accomplices in jails or in the custody of intelligence agencies.
The report has been forwarded to all provincial home departments, provincial police chiefs, provincial heads of other law enforcement agencies, Islamabad chief commissioner and the Islamabad police chief by the National Crisis Management Cell (NCMC) of the interior ministry, The Express Tribune has learnt.
According to confidential information, Qari Moavia has assigned the task to Nauman Moavia. The meeting also devised a strategy for terrorist activities for a period of two months, the report added.
The TTP also allowed its leaders and activists to rob banks and jewelry shops, in order to gather funds for the purchase of transport, arms and ammunition.
After receiving the intelligence report, the NCMC directed law enforcement agencies to adopt possible security arrangements and ensure fool-proof security to avoid any untoward incident.
Furthermore, security has been put on high alert across the country.
Another circular issued by the NCMC stated that “the ministry of interior has expressed concern over a visible increase in activities of banned outfits in various parts of the country”.
These defunct organisations have been found involved in instigating people against government by organising conferences, polarising society and precipitating unrest and law and order situation.

All the anti American blather says that the TTP are funded by the USA -- so why do they kidnap and rob?

And the blame should go to our POLITICAL RELIGIOUS parties. They are the ones who have always been supportive of them. The best example I can think of is Laal Masjid... They were fighting against our SSG with heavy weapons and everybody was cursing them at the time but couple of weeks later all the Stupid Religious Leaders started supporting them and made them heros.......... These people are INHUMAN, (forget about being muslim), if you cannot be a good human, you can never be a good muslim. They all should be wiped out like rats......
Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani was recently addressing a gathering at ‘Azadi Parade’ at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA); he said, “It is imperative that the entire nation is united and the army could only be successful with the cooperation of the people.” The nation of Pakistan has been plagued with terrorism in recent times. And to make matters worse, we continue to find the same miscreants boastfully taking responsibility. The frustrating part is that despite all the evidence that points to the same terrorists, many still choose to side with conspiracy theories. TTP have openly issued a warning to the Pakistani government for working with the U.S. Does it make sense for the U.S. to fund the TTP, when they view us as a threat to their evil mission? And also, why would the U.S. encourage Pakistan to uproot these terrorist elements?
Our nations are at war with these terrorists. And these terrorists are fully focused on infiltrating the region with terrorism. Our failure to see the truth shifts the advantage in their favor, and weakens our position. Our governments realize the importance of working together to combat these terrorists. And that’s why both of our nations are working hard to create a good working relationship. We must hold these obvious culprits responsible for their actions and support our governments in their mission to bring peace and stability to the region.

Shame, Shame Shame. JI and JUI F should now give Fatwa on the legality of Kidnapping for ransom. I think they will find a reason to legalise kidnapping and will also be able to make a story for the same.

RAW is great. They have bought out TTP to create havoc in pakistan with funds swindled and robbed from Pakistanis themselves. Highest awards should be given to them. That is if you believe Pakistanis.
and how exactly does the holier than thou TTP justify kidnappings and robberies in the name of Islam ?
They are getting so much money from RAW and CIA, then why kidnappings and robberies?
