ISLAMABAD: Zamzama gas field has been closed for annual overhaul due to which the electricity generation is expected to be affected further. According to a Sui northern gas official, 190 million cubic feet of gas supply will be cut that may affect the electricity generation capability of the independent power producers. The official said that the gas field will likely be closed for three weeks. Due to the closure of Zamzama gas field for annual overhauling, the gas supply to the power sector will be affected. The field, which is located close to the small town of Juhi in Dadu, is owned by BHP Billiton – an Anglo-Australian multinational oil and mining company – and is capable of producing 500 million cubic feet of gas and a further 300 barrels of condensate per day.
