Taking precaution: People advised to boil water

Residents of Hyderabad, surrounding areas were advised so to avoid diseases such as diarrhea and dysentery.

HYDERABAD: The residents of Hyderabad and the surrounding areas have been advised to boil drinking water and use filters to avoid diseases such as diarrhea and dysentery. Water experts from the Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro found unacceptable levels of turbidity—from 38 to over 100 NTU— and coliform bacteria E. coli in the water samples collected. The WHO permits no more than 5 NTU.
