PARACHINAR: Two children were critically injured by an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Central Kurram Agency on Thursday, according to an official of the agency. The children were on their way to the mountains to cut trees when a roadside planted IED went off near them, injuring both. The official said that the children were rushed to a private hospital in the agency. The  doctors have decided to amputate the leg of one child since it was badly wounded in the blast. The condition of the other child is also critical, he added. The official of security forces further said that the IED was planted by militants to target a convoy. “Security forces patrol the area once in a while,” he added.
