PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Minister for Agriculture Arbab Mohammad Ayub Jan has said that the generation of maximum electricity is the mission of the provincial government. Talking to the media here on Wednesday, he said that wilful negligence in the past was observed in connection with generation of power, resulting in the creation of the energy crisis. However, he said that K-P Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti has for the first time in history of the country initiated revolutionary projects for electricity generation. The projects, he said, are major achievements of the provincial government; adding that the addition of 2,100 megawatts of electricity to the grid will usher in a new era of progress and development in the province. The minister said newly-established industrial units will supply cheap electricity to attract investment and help alleviate poverty, backwardness and unemployment in the province.
