Cricket: Irfan spins AO Clinic into semis

Al Haaj failed to get going as Irfan kept them under pressure and were bundled out for 107 in 18.5 overs.

Off-spinner Irfanuddin claimed a four-wicket haul to help AO Clinic to a 48-run win against Al Haaj Peshawar in their 17th Dr MA Shah Night Trophy quarter-final.

Set a target of 156, Al Haaj failed to get going as Irfan kept them under pressure and were bundled out for 107 in 18.5 overs. Abdul Aziz top-scored with 27 while Hussain Akbar made 19 as Irfan gave away just 21 runs in his four-over spell. Tariq Haroon chipped in with two important wickets. Earlier, Owaise Rehmani scored a 38-ball 66 with the help of two sixes and five boundaries to help AO Clinic to 155 all out. Nadeem Sheikh played a 31-run cameo at the top of the order while Junaid Ali Shah contributed 27 to the side’s total.
