Target killing: Religious activist gunned down

KARACHI: A religious activist was gunned down in a late Tuesday night incident. The deceased was identified as 42-year-old Sajid Hussain. Police officials said that two armed men riding a motorcycle shot at the victim as he was crossing the at Lasbela bridge on his motorcycle. Shot once in the head, the victim died at the spot. An official of Majlis-e-Wahdat-Muslimeen, Ali Ahmar, claimed the affiliation of the victim and demanded the immediate arrest of culprits. Tension prevailed in Shia-dominated areas including Rizvia, Ancholi, Malir and Abbas Town while a heavy contingent of Rangers and police were also deployed.
