Complete halt: Doctors’ strike continues for 10th day in Quetta
Doctors boycotted Out Patient Departments (OPDs) in all state and private hospitals across the city, as the strike against the abduction of Dr Ghulam Rasool Kakar continued for the 10th consecutive day on Thursday.
About half a million people report to OPDs of government hospitals all over Balochistan for free medical advice. Since the start of the strike they have been turned back as doctors remain unavailable at the OPDs. So far no efforts have been made on part of the government and its machinery to negotiate with the enraged doctors, seeking an end to the protest strike.
Police and other investigative agencies remain silent on the incident of kidnapping, while the media is yet to be briefed about the agencies’ efforts for the safe and early recovery of Dr Kakar. The government also remains insensitive to the agonies of the ailing populace and has not made make any move to seek an end to the strike or increase pressure on the kidnappers to release the doctor.

Very sad situation, doctors should get another way of protest in spite of closing down the OPDs, people are ours, they are the ones who are feeding our children through their taxes, I am 1000% sure they are not having any sympathy with the kidnappers, they are themselves against the brutal activities. The people of Quetta proved their hatred to criminals when they assisted PMA's shutter down strike. Please let the OPD open and people find free advises for health. Thank you PMA.
Time is over for the failed democracy which has propelled criminals in the position of power. Judiciary is more interested in politics than justice. “Democracy in Pakistan is the government off the people; buy the people, far from the people”. It is a system which supports moneyed class, feudal, judges and bureaucrats. It has nothing to offer to the poor people. Government has failed to protect the basic rights of the people of Pakistan, like life, property, honor, and failed to provide services like health and education. Armed Forces should move forward to save the people and State of Pakistan. This is their national obligation and duty.
