Bugti Murder: Accused Sherpao seeks transit bail

Sherpao was seeking bail before a Balochistan court when Sibbi Anti-Terrorism Court ordered to detainment.

Accused for Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti’s murder, the former federal interior minister Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has filed a request for transit bail at Peshawar High Court (PHC).


Sherpao was seeking bail before a Balochistan court when Sibbi Anti-Terrorism Court Judge Nawaz Khan Barakzai ordered to detain those accused for murdering Bugti, while a hearing of the murder case on July 18.

The arrest warrants for suspects include former president Pervez Musharraf, former premier Shaukat Aziz, former interior minister Aftab Khan Sherpao, former Balochistan governor Awais Ahmed Ghani, former chief secretary Shoib Nausherwani and former Dera Bugti DCO Abdul Samad Lasi. Sherpao’s Counsel Bilal Durrani told The Express Tribune that they had submitted the transit bail application and would be appearing before Justice Shahjahan Akhunzada at PHC on Monday.
